Tamale College of Education - TACE was opened in 1958 with the motto 'Ora et Labora' by the first president of the Republic of Ghana. Sixty female pioneer students were enrolled in the college that year, and it remained a female institution until 1977. The College has the vision to become a leading institution for the professional training of well disciplined, dedicated and academically qualified teachers for Ghana.

Sport is valued at TACE, with students competing in intercollegiate events.
Musicians, Vocalists, Performers, Debaters and Dancers can all shine at TACE.
The TACE Alumni is an association of students who have at one time or another attended the College. It enables past students to maintain their relationship with the College, promotes their welfare, and provides a medium through which members contribute towards the progress of their alma mater.
