Tamale College of Education - TACE

Tamale Training College was founded in 1958 by Swiss missionary Miss Frieda Mischler to train female teachers for the Certificate A Post-Middle. Officially commissioned in 1960 by President Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, it was the first teacher training college in Northern Ghana. In 1977, it became co-educational. Following national education reforms, the college upgraded its programmes and continues a strong tradition of discipline and excellence in teacher training.
